Nominacje do nagród ESFS 2025

Ogłoszone zostały tegoroczne nominacje do nagród przyznawanych przez European Science Fiction Society. Nagrody przyznawane są w różnych kategoriach w ramach Achievements Awards, Hall of Fame Awards oraz przyznawana jest nagroda Chrysalis dla twórców i artystów, którzy relatywnie od niedawna – w ostatnich trzech latach – zaistnieli w fantastyca, a swoją twórczością zasłużyli na szczególne wyróżnienie.

Wród tegorocznych nominowanych jest też sporo polskich akcentów (wraz z uzasadnieniami oryginlanymi nominacji):

2025 Achievements Awards

Best Work of Art

Joanna Karpowicz – Anubis series

  • Since 2012 artist creates a series of paintings portraying god Anubis in various places and situations. The works evoke multiple feelings and definitely are of interest to SFF fans. We decided to nominate them in Best Work of Art category as they form a one big piece of art. Many of the paintings were created in last two years.

Best Written Work of Fiction

Lagrange. Listy z Ziemii – Istvan Vizvary

  • “Lagrange. Letters from the Earth” are a phenomenal SF work. Author skilfully mixed hard SF with religion and metaphysics. Polish readers loved the book and it received the most important awards in the field including Janusz A. Zajdel Award, Jerzy Żuławski Award, and Award of “Nowa Fantastyka” magazine.

Best Fanzine

Potencjalny Mimik 4

  • “Potencjalny Mimik” is a digital TTRPG fanzine, with the main focus on the OSR genre. Its mission is to make unique and fun materials. The 4th issue features modules, mechanics, additional classes, random tables, and even a full game. The graphic design is bold yet functional, making the content easy to use and memorable. A careful reader might even find the enchanted duplicator (of a sort)!

2025 Hall of Fame Awards

Best Artist

Tadeusz Baranowski

  • Known very well to generations of people in Poland for his fabulous comics. He work on his own creations but also as an artist supporting others. The latter includes being a colourist for “Thorgal”, and drawing comics based on scripts by Jean Dufaux.

Best Promoter

Tomasz Kołodziejczak

  • Creator and promoter of SFF. He is best known as SFF author and comic publisher but his activity stretched into many other fields. He wrote for prozines and fanzines, created comic scripts, designed games, run conventions, worked as publisher, co-created “Kanał Fantastyczny” (SFF Channel) on Youtube, and more. He received Meritorious for Polish Culture and Gold Cross of Merit.

Best Magazine

Informator GKF

  • The “GKF Newsletter” is a fanzine established in 1987 (as SQUONK) and is published since then. Last year the 400th issue was released what makes it the longest fanzine series in Poland. It is not only w newsletter for members of Gdański Klub Fantastyki (SFF Club of Gdańsk) but also features some short stories, interesting articles, and stunning covers.

Chrysalis Awards 2025

Justyna Hankus

  • Her debut novel “Dwie i pół duszy. Folk noir” (Two and a half souls. Folk noir) appeared in 2023 and was nominated to the Janusz A. Zajdel Award for that year. Before that she had a chance to publish a few short stories in various SFF places.
